Help! My husband always fights with me!

Dear Aunt Becky:
I have been married less than a year to a pretty normal guy. The problem is he has a hot temper and will pick a fight with me if he doesn’t get his way. When I bring up this issue, his standard response is “just do everything I say and I won’t get mad”. At first I thought he was joking but 9 months later I realize he isn’t. I’ve told him I can’t go on living like this and how miserable I am; nothing has changed. My question is: is my marriage doomed? Signed, Losing Battle.
Dear Losing:
You can’t change people or expect them to change. The bottom line is are the positive aspects of your relationship worth all this? Can you picture yourself in the same situation in 5 or 10 years? If you are unhappy now and he hasn’t shown signs of changing after you’ve discussed the issue it’s time to put down your boxing gloves and leave the ring. (no pun intended) You aren’t the loser he is! Aunt Becky
