Two months to a perfect wedding body

OK, you’ve made your final flower selection, submitted your music list to the DJ and booked your honeymoon. Now is time to focus on your body looking it’s best for your walk down the aisle. With all the wedding arrangements and decisions, it’s easy to forget this vital factor of keeping in shape. Do not despair. I found a workout routine for the next 8 weeks which will tone you up and keep your weight down. If you can devote 5 days a week, this program will work for you!
Strength Training - I found a 1 hour class of circuit training at my local gym on Tuesday night. The class consisted of 50 women and one instructor. We constantly held 5 lb dumbells (or more) and did different weight lifts and positions to music. It might take a day or two to feel the workout but believe me, the results are worth it. Your arms will be toned like you’ve never seen. If you can’t find a class of this type in your neighborhood, then try to create your own regime. Run or Walk a Marathon - Luck was on my side when I found a ½ marathon to run in 1 week after my wedding day. I started training two times a week for two months before my big day. I trained with a coworker every Wednesday after work. I would run on my own on Saturday. I understand everyone has different levels of fitness and training so, decide what would be realistic for you to compete in with 2 months of training. Check out for appropriate training schedules as it is a commitment but well worth it. See link to runners world below for more information.
Hot Yoga - Words can’t describe the intensity of 1 ½ hot yoga workout. The room temperature is around 105F. It is a dry heat. The workout consists of 21 different positions. Wear loose comfortable lightweight clothes and bring a large water bottle and towel. The instructor will do 20 minutes of warm up and you will be dripping sweat. Next are the more intense positions followed by the floor portion and the cool down. Sounds easy huh? No way, it makes Tuesday and Wednesday’s workout child’s play. I went to this class every Thursday. It was great for my fatigued muscles from the last 2 days of workout. Hot yoga clenses the body of toxins and impurities. You will appreciate your shower after this class!
On Saturday I did my own free weight training in the gym for a half an hour followed by a 1 hour yoga and/or pilates class. If you can find the right teacher you will be challenged with different positions each week.
Sunday consisted of training for the marathon with at least 15 minutes of stretching before and after.
Helpful tips:
I took Monday and Friday off to let my body recover. I considered the weekends my easy days. Remember, the key essentials to losing weight and looking fabulous consists of the 4 following elements: Circuit Training, Aerobic activity, Stretching/Toning and Diet. Drink tons of water, especially after hot yoga. Eat plenty of fruits and vegtables and limit all those processed sugars. As with any physical activity, please consult your physician before starting an exercise program.
